So I pay an extra two dollars and I might get it a day later?

Going ahead and buying the window regulator. Since I can see the window is still in the tracks, also getting a new clutch pedal pad/cover since the one on the car is pretty thrashed.

Perhaps some things need to be shipped by ground?

I don’t know...shipping rates are weird and dumb

There’s a cost for zooming in! I couldn’t take a partial screen shot of just the scroll menu so I had to take a full screen shot, cut everything else out and scale the image.

Here in Austin, they have a sign over I-35 north of town that gives estimated times to the south side of the city if you stay on the interstate or take the toll road (SH 30). Almost daily, it will cost you $10 in tolls to arrive at least 10 minutes later than staying on the free road.

UPS has ground transit map, enter the ZIP code of where it’s shipping it shows your standard business day times. It’s more expensive because they don’t suck as much balls as USPS does.

I’m pretty sure that priority is USPS and ground is either fed-ex or UPS. USPS tends to have better prices for smaller boxes than the others.

I think your right, when I’ve paid more for shipping from RockAuto they send it through FedEx.

USPS or DHL is like a punch in the stomach vs a kick in the nuts (which will arrive suddenly in the middle of the night some time in the next 2 months)

I’m just glad I have a reliable enough address to get packages. When I was in the Army it took me weeks to get packages after they arrived, until I became cool with someone who had access to the mailroom.

If the US system works anything like the Oz system used to:

Priority is the supplier’s contracted mail service that they have pre-paid for. Ground is the standard mail service. 2 day is air freight to the nearest mail hub to you then ground from there. The last two are contracted courier services...

I always thought space could be actually a solution, think of it this way

Go 60-70km above earth.

Chill for a few minutes as the earth rotates.

Re-enter once the arrival location is near you.

A route like Los Angeles to Hong Kong would be significantly faster, who knows if cheaper.
